fromONE are eight Fine Art graduates of 2009, from the South of England, working in different media and styles but with a collective artistic consciousness. Their work encompasses:

Dreamlike landscape paintings in which diaphanous layers and glazes create often fluid and hazy atmospheres (janeASKEW);

Opulent and pristine photographs of the banal, dilapidated and mundane (aliceCORBY);

Visceral and lurid, yet sumptuous and jewel-like 3D textiles (rosinaGODWIN);

Non-representational sculpture using found and functional objects (jamesNORTON);

Figurative, photo-realistic and typographic paintings and drawings which reflect and examine modern culture (katiePARFEY);

Synthetic, often fantastical digital photographic realities created with pictures taken around the world (christophRIGERT);

Surreal paintings of idealized people in sinuous imagined scenarios (matSTANTON);

Dense text-paintings in which veils of letters and words simultaneously obscure and interact with each other (amyWATERS).

Their first cooperative show reunites the artists, pooling works produced in now separate studios, to create a diverse and stimulating exhibition in an accessible art space. This is a chance to see the exciting and thought-provoking art works of up-and-coming artists.
